| Case: | Excellent case with helium escape valve that appears to have been polished and shows signs of normal wear with scratches. The bezel is in overall great condition with some wear and scratches. The pip at 12 appears to be a replacement. Case back is stamped 1665. The serial and reference numbers are clearly visible between the lugs. The crystal shows some wear. |
| Dial: | The dial is in overall excellent condition with light patina. The lume has aged to a beautiful creamy tone. This dial is referred to as a “Rail Dial” because of the spacing of the text on the bottom of the dial underneath the depth rating. The “E” in Superlative lines up over the “Y” in officially and the “C” in Chronometer lines up over the “C” in Certified. The hour and minute hands have been color corrected and are close to matching the color of the lume on the dial. The hour and minute hands also show signs of slight cracking. The lume in the seconds hand matches the color of the lume on the dial and shows some wear in the center. |
| Bracelet: | Excellent stainless steel Oyster 93150 with 11 links, 580 end links and divers extension. Back of the clasp is stamped "VD" indicating that the bracelet is from 1979 corresponding to the case production. Bracelet shows some slight stretch and the clasp shows signs of some polishing. |

Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665
Reference 1665 is the inaugural Sea-Dweller, coming to market in 1967 and continuing production until circa 1983. During that time, three variations of the dial were released, the "Double Red" with two lines of red text, the "Single Red" with only one line of red text, and the "Great White" with no red text at all. The Great White Sea-Dweller itself boasts numerous dial variations, including the "Rail Dial" ref. 1665 you see here today.
